About Kathleen J. Herrera, CPA, LLC

Kathy Herrera completed her undergraduate degree at Wayne State College, earning a BS degree, before progressing to the University of Nebraska at Omaha to undertake an MBA. After graduating, she acquired hands-on auditing experience with the Nebraska Department of Revenue. She followed this up with 17 years of experience with a Fortune 500 company, in many aspects of accounting finance, operations, and staff management. In 2008, she qualified as a Certified Public Accountant and has been providing businesses in Omaha and beyond with the highest quality accounting services since. 

In addition to her MBA and CPA qualifications, Kathy belongs to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Nebraska Society of CPAs (NESCPA), and is a Certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor. Kathy is currently the vice chairman of the Nonprofit committee for the Nebraska Society of CPAs (NSCPA), and a past vice chairman of the Quality Review committee where she evaluated the work of other accounting firms and provided valuable feedback.

Kathy has worked on many successful peer reviews, earning the highest possible rating in all. Working with peers in the accounting industry helps Kathy to deliver quality service in all areas of her practice.

Kathy is not only a trusted expert in her field, but she is naturally persistent when it comes to digging in to uncover issues and problem-solve. Her experience in both private and public accounting lend her the skills many other CPAs do not possess. 

Each year Kathy engages in numerous hours of education and training to stay current on the ever-changing tax laws and implications that are essential to service her clients effectively. Kathy is licensed to provide accounting services nationally and welcomes opportunities to speak and educate others in her community and beyond.
